No Language Barrier Here....

My next door neighbor is three years old, and he speaks no English, I speak no Spanish, but we both understand when he points to my door it means "I want a treat!". *Note to self: buy more lollipops tomorrow*

Pre-schooler Spanish Berlitz 101:

Quieres una paleta? = Do you want a lollypop?

Hey! Thanks! Now how do I tell him "don't throw my river rocks at your parents vehicle"? (I usually just leave that one for mom & dad!)

Actually, it is quite easy as well. However, it doesn't come in the form of a language lesson, but rather in Child Psychology 101... The official term is "Redirection" also known as distraction.

All you do is repeat the earlier question, "Quieres una paleta?" and then place another lollipop in his hand (two if necessary... one for each hand, oh and another for the mouth.)

Wear dark shades too so the mother can't see the shame in your eyes as she glares at you...
