Would God Attend Your Church?
Would God attend your church this Sunday
If you had no cross for him to see?
And no bulletin for him to read?
What if you all rode in on motorcycles?
without your Bibles?
In sleeveless shirts?
... and jeans?
... and sandals?
Would he come if you didn't sing a song?
And no one said a prayer?
If you didn't have a sermon?
... 'cause the pastor called in sick?
If you didn't hold communion?
And drained the baptistry?
If nobody counted blessings?
... and you opened a smoking lounge?
If God didn't attend your church this Sunday
would you know he wasn't there?
Where would he be instead?
And if he isn't there this Sunday
... was he ever there at all?
