Spring is in the air....

.... and the ground!

On Sunday morning I awoke to a wintery-wonderland, a rarity in middle Tennessee, the ground and trees were covered in more snow than I'd seen since I moved here nearly 5 years ago. Just two days later the temperature is in the 50's and the only evidence of snowmen are the piles of stick arms, stone eyes and carrot noses dotting the yards in town. I wandered through my yard today, MY yard!

The little voice inside telling me I should rake my yard has been joined by a chorus of budding daffodils begging me to cut back the overgrowth around them. My patio pleads for decoration with colorful lights and candles in anticipation of many hours of quiet reading or just watching the world go by. The sun pours it's energy into me, my cells happily absorbing every bit of it. How easy it would be to call in sick to work tonight with a case of spring fever and spend it playing outside. Surely a little fresh air would benefit anyones health! I bet I could even get my doctor to write me a note.

I want an apron that says "I kiss better than I cook"!

Simple Things...

I don't know what I'm gonna do when my mail carrier gets her brakes fixed. I hear her two mail boxes away and know it's almost time to go check the mail.

Brrrrrrrr.....

-22.jpg

This didn't show up as well as I'd hoped, but this is from my trip to Minnesota at the end of last week. If you look very closely at the little display window you can barely make out a -22 degrees Fahrenheit. This was the outside temperature at 9:00 Saturday morning. Makes the 20 something when I arrived in Nashville very late last night feel almost tropical.

God Bless Superbowl Sunday...

When else can you park 4 spaces from the door at Wal-Mart on the first try and stand in line behind only one person at the checkout?
