Spring is in the air....
.... and the ground!
On Sunday morning I awoke to a wintery-wonderland, a rarity in middle Tennessee, the ground and trees were covered in more snow than I'd seen since I moved here nearly 5 years ago. Just two days later the temperature is in the 50's and the only evidence of snowmen are the piles of stick arms, stone eyes and carrot noses dotting the yards in town. I wandered through my yard today, MY yard!
The little voice inside telling me I should rake my yard has been joined by a chorus of budding daffodils begging me to cut back the overgrowth around them. My patio pleads for decoration with colorful lights and candles in anticipation of many hours of quiet reading or just watching the world go by. The sun pours it's energy into me, my cells happily absorbing every bit of it. How easy it would be to call in sick to work tonight with a case of spring fever and spend it playing outside. Surely a little fresh air would benefit anyones health! I bet I could even get my doctor to write me a note.

I'll check with my boss on that, but I'm pretty sure it would only count if my mom had a Ph.D!

Why did your mom have to ask you twice about that note before you'd give her an answer?
