Another blonde hair is born.....

It is the last day of the month. I'm squinting at a note I scribbled a few days ago, trying to figure out what was so important I'd scrawled it on the back of the envelope containing my unfinished "to-do" list from last weekend. Then I realized it said "CAR TAGS". I'd completely forgotten.

So I drove to the county courthouse, where mid-morning on the last day of the month there was ample parking. Parked in the closest non-handicapped spot to the front door, walked in, was immediately greeted by a cheerful county employee who processed my registration by hand in less than a minute. No, it wasn't a dream. God Bless Small Town America.

Not Exactly "Dog"...

I'm leaving for work yesterday, and see this guy walking toward me, calling to get my attention. I wasn't late for work yet, but I sure didn't have time for whatever he was selling. My mind raced to find the quickest excuse to get out of there. "I'm looking for a guy who lives down the road." He said, now close enough I could read the name of a bail bond company on his tee-shirt. I didn't know the guy he was looking for, not even after looking carefully at mug shots from the Sheriff's department. I could see his partner across the neighbor's yard. They both looked like respectable guys, the kind of guys who live in normal looking houses, and do ordinary things on the weekend. At that point I realized I was not talking to a satellite television service salesman, or whatever, it was no surprise, when he turned to go, to see "Fugitive Recovery Agent" on the back of his shirt, just above a pair of handcuffs. This guy was a bounty hunter.
