I remember staring at a roll of paper towels that had inspirational sayings on it. Like, "If you believe, you can achieve!" and "You can do it!" and "Reach for the stars!"

I wondered at the sort of person who could find important life lessons on a paper towel.

I think it is a secret plot to force me to hang paper towels or toilet paper the "right" way, which in my mind is backwards. All the printed stuff winds up reading upside down and facing the wall the way I hang it, but I am sooooo not switching.
